Divoom Tiivoo-2 Review: A Mini TV Speaker for a Cozy Desk

Updated on

The Divoom Tiivoo-2 brings the look of a tiny vintage television to a desk, with Bluetooth music, FM radio and a screen that can show photos and pixel art. In Frawgeey’s short review, the most convincing use is personalizing a small, coordinated setup: pink hardware, a chosen clock face and a background sound mix made on the device.

There is a useful catch for music listeners. Although the screen shows a song title, Frawgeey does not get the lyrics feature working. The review is an enthusiastic look at a playful desk accessory, with that limitation left visible. Divoom supplied the unit featured in the video.

A miniature television that fits into the setup

The unboxing starts with a fitted carrying case, followed by the compact speaker itself. The pink finish matches the surrounding keyboard and accessories, while the clear front and rounded screen give the device its retro character. A clock face makes it useful to glance at between music sessions.

There are separate physical controls for power, menu navigation and volume. An extendable antenna folds out from the back for radio use. These details matter because the TV appearance carries through into how you interact with it: the controls and antenna are functional parts of the product.

Build a background sound mix instead of choosing one loop

The white-noise section gets the longest demonstration. Frawgeey moves through sounds such as a fan, frogs, ocean, river and thunderstorm, then explains how individual levels can be adjusted. You can combine a couple of sounds or layer several rather than accept one preset at a fixed balance.

The example is simple to imagine at a desk: keep a storm prominent and put birds more quietly behind it. Changing those levels affects the character of the background, so the value lies in the mixing controls as much as the number of available sounds. The video lets the sounds play without commentary, giving more context than a menu tour alone.

That demonstration supports a customizable ambient-sound feature. It does not establish a measured sleep benefit; the reason to choose it here is having a preferred background sound available in the same small object that plays your music.

FM radio begins with a station scan

Selecting Radio starts a scan of local stations. Frawgeey hears the tuner move through broadcasts and describes waiting a few minutes for the scan to finish before choosing a channel. This is part of first use, rather than instant playback from a prepared station list.

If you want local broadcasts without selecting a stream on your phone, the antenna and tuner give the Tiivoo-2 a distinct role alongside Bluetooth playback. Allow time for the initial scan when setting it up.

Music playback works differently from the lyrics feature

Bluetooth is one music source, and Frawgeey also points to loading tracks onto a microSD card. The top of the enclosure houses the speaker opening. The video is a short experience review, with no measured loudness, frequency-response or battery-life test, so its strongest evidence concerns the controls and display behavior.

The display identifies the playing song, yet the creator cannot get lyrics to appear. Frawgeey suspects manual uploading is required and decides that would take too much time. That is the creator’s explanation of the unsuccessful attempt, rather than a completed setup procedure. If effortless lyrics are your main reason to buy, this review does not demonstrate that experience.

Photos, pixel art and small utilities personalize the screen

The walkthrough then moves to the Photo option. Frawgeey comments on the detail possible from uploaded images and notes that the result depends on the image you supply. This gives the screen another use between music sessions, beyond showing track information.

The customization section also shows a themed clock and a sleeping-cat design. Community-made artwork in the Divoom app can be sent to the device, letting the small screen follow the look of the desk rather than stay on its default presentation.

Basic games, a scoreboard and alarms round out the tour. Frawgeey spends little time playing the games, so they remain extras rather than an evaluated gaming feature. The alarm list also needs attention: the creator finds several evening entries and intends to remove them. Check the existing alarms before putting the speaker beside your bed.

Who will enjoy the Tiivoo-2?

The Tiivoo-2 suits someone who wants a small speaker to be part of a cozy desk’s personality. The ambient mixer, local radio and changeable artwork give it things to do after the novelty of the miniature TV shape wears off. Its appeal is strongest when those uses overlap in your routine.

Frawgeey’s conclusion is that it is fun rather than necessary. That fits the demonstration: a customizable desk companion, with a lyrics feature that did not deliver the expected convenience in this review.
