A traditional eastern dragon-inspired silhouette usually emphasizes a long winding body and does not need large bat-like wings. Choose the body construction deliberately rather than adding wings by default.
The body edges overlap with too little background space between them. Widen the gaps or simplify the curve before adding shadows and scale texture.
The whole licensed illustration gently bobs. It is a locally assembled eight-frame loop, not a claim that the limbs, mouth or wings move independently. Keep the same canvas and padding when making a similar loop.
Draw a flowing spine before the scales. Start with the silhouette, then add only the details that remain readable at the final size.
