Open the editor ↗A fanned tail and small head give a turkey its outline. Compare a friendly front-facing bird, historic line studies, a simple head icon and a playful chef cartoon.

6 licensed turkey illustration studies converted to 128 × 128. One example uses a locally assembled whole-illustration bobbing GIF; this does not animate separate body parts.

Keep the fan broad but relatively compact and use a smaller bare-looking head with a visible wattle where the style allows it. Avoid long trailing eye-spotted feather shapes.
Keep only the largest alternating feather bands. The fan edge should remain clear even if the interior feather lines are simplified.
Arrange the tail as a broad background shape behind the torso, then separate a few feather groups with contrasting bands. Start with that shape in the pixel art maker.
