Alligator Pixel Art: Snappy Characters, Bold Shapes & GIFs

A long tail and a broad snout can do most of the drawing. Compare flat green cartoons, overhead shapes and dark silhouettes, then choose the kind of gator you want to build.

Alligator pixel art questions

Why does my alligator look like a lizard?

Widen and flatten the snout, lower the body and give the tail more weight near its base. Tiny feet and an oversized eye can make a friendly cartoon, but a narrow pointed head may lose the alligator shape.

How do I fit a long gator into a square?

Choose a side pose with the tail curved gently back toward the body, or use a top-down view. Preserve the whole silhouette with padding; stretching the source into a square changes the snout and body proportions.

How many teeth should I draw?

Use a few separated light blocks. A continuous white strip reads as a grin, while too many single-pixel teeth become noise when reduced. Preview the jaw at the actual output size.

Is the GIF a swimming animation?

No. This page includes a locally assembled gentle bobbing loop of a licensed cartoon. For a swimming cycle of your own, keep the head steady and plan separate tail and foot positions on a consistent canvas.

Give your gator a clear silhouette

Start with a broad head, choose a tail curve and build a green palette around those two shapes.
