Dolphin pixel art questions

Why does my dolphin look like a fish?

Preserve the snout, dorsal fin and dolphin-style body proportions. A generic oval with a triangular tail can lose the mammal construction.

How do I show a leap without a large background scene?

Use a curved diagonal body and a clear upward head angle. A small water accent is optional if the silhouette already communicates the motion.

Why does the tail look like one pointed end?

The fluke notch has merged during reduction. Widen that opening and keep both tail lobes connected to the body.

Choose a shape for your dolphin

Draw the back as a smooth stepped contour and let the dorsal fin interrupt it clearly.
