Snowy owl pixel art questions

Why does my white owl vanish on a light background?

Use a slightly darker or warmer background and preserve a gray outside edge. Reserve bright white for the main plumage instead of relying on a white-on-white silhouette.

How many feather spots should I retain?

Keep only the larger groups that still separate at the working size. The round face, eyes and wing boundary should remain clearer than the small barring marks.
