A desk upgrade does not have to start with replacing everything. In kappe’s pastel desk makeover, a white monitor, a newly built keyboard and better use of the wall gradually reshape a familiar setup. The pink Divoom Times Gate arrives later, adding animated screens to a desk whose colors and layout are already taking shape.
This February 2024 video is a visual upgrade diary, with its explanations in on-screen captions. Its useful lesson is how the pieces fit together: hardware color, keyboard feel, storage clearance and digital decoration each get their own place in the process.
Start with the white monitor and the existing layout
The first substantial change is a white Pixio PX259 Prime monitor. kappe specifically appreciates being able to choose a monitor in a color that fits the desk, rather than having to alter its appearance afterward. With the existing second display kept in portrait orientation, the new screen becomes the main horizontal surface.

That is an important starting point for the rest of the makeover: the monitor is visually dominant, so its surround affects how the smaller items read. The white hardware provides a calmer backdrop for pink, yellow and blue accessories. This is a color-and-placement observation from the completed setup, rather than a display-performance benchmark.
Next, kappe swaps back to a previous yellow deskmat, explaining that the intended alternative color had not been ordered. The makeover works with an item already available instead of stopping until every accessory is replaced.
Build a keyboard around both sound and appearance
The keyboard section centers on a blue Leobog HI75 aluminum case. kappe assembles the board, selects switches and adds rounded Candy keycaps in MOA profile. The visible blue case and pastel key colors give the keyboard a role in the palette, while the sound demonstration makes clear that its appeal is also tactile.

The captions distinguish a personal experiment from a requirement: kappe tries a tape modification but says the keyboard sounds good in stock form. That is useful context for a newcomer who might otherwise assume the finished result demands every modification shown.
A white replacement knob and a flower-shaped cable decoration finish the keyboard area. Even the small cable accessory brings some friction—the caption notes that fitting it was difficult. These touches are part of the creator’s chosen look, rather than performance upgrades in themselves.
Make the pegboard work with a standing desk
Storage is the next practical problem. kappe had previously avoided mounting the pegboard because the desk moves. The monitor mount creates space behind the desk, however, and the board is positioned so it will not interfere when the standing desk is used.

This is one of the most transferable details in the video: check how the desk moves before filling the wall around it. In this particular setup, headphones can hang above the work surface, and a wooden organizer replaces the previous white one. Small figures and the speakers then return to their places.
Add the pink Times Gate after the desk has a visual rhythm
The Times Gate enters at about 4:44, after the main hardware and storage changes. kappe identifies it as supplied by Divoom for the video. Its pink surround fits the existing accents, while five separate screens introduce moving content below the monitor.

The demonstration shows the app being used to choose pixel artwork and GIF-style content, followed by several display modes. One arrangement gives the panels different images; another repeats a coordinated blue design across all five. That choice changes whether the device feels like a collection of tiny pictures or one visual accent.

The captions also make the connection arrangement explicit: USB-C and Wi-Fi, rather than Bluetooth. For someone planning a similar desk, allow a power route and check the network setup before choosing its final position. The video demonstrates artwork and modes; it does not provide a complete network-setup tutorial or test every connected widget.
In the finished desk, the Times Gate sits below the main display while an existing Ditoo remains on a small raised shelf to the side. The two devices occupy different positions, allowing the new horizontal row of screens to add movement without replacing every familiar object.
Finish with small objects that repeat the palette
The final additions are a colorful tiled coaster and a soft pastel cushion for the chair. These are quieter changes than a monitor or keyboard, but they repeat colors already present and bring the makeover into the parts of the setup used by hands and body.
Near the end, kappe returns to the monitor while showing media and gaming. The captions express satisfaction with how it looks in use. The original price commentary belongs to that 2024 purchase context, so it should not be read as a current offer or a comparison test.

What to take from this upgrade tour
The most useful idea is the order of decisions: establish the main screen, build the keyboard experience, solve storage clearance and then add a digital accent. The Times Gate works here because its color, width and screen content have a place within the larger arrangement.
If you want to adapt the look, start with the colors and open space you already have. Use the video to judge the pink device’s visual role and the kinds of artwork it can show, while treating its brief appearance as part of a makeover rather than a full feature review.
