How to Use the Text & Animation Tools

Each tool starts with its own input and ends with a file you can keep.

Generate Pixel Text

  1. Write your message

Enter a name, label, or message using supported characters. Add up to four lines.

  2. Style your lettering

Choose one of three bitmap styles, adjust pixel size and alignment, and pick your colors.

  3. Save a PNG

Check the output dimensions and download your static lettering with a transparent or solid background.

Make Scrolling Text

  1. Enter a message

Write one line and choose a font and banner size.

  2. Set the motion

Choose left or right, adjust the speed, and select repeat, play once, or back and forth.

  3. Download the loop

Play the full preview, then export a GIF with the same motion and colors.

Animate a PNG

  1. Choose your file

Upload a static PNG from your device. The image stays in your browser.

  2. Pick an effect

Choose Bounce, Blink, Shake, or Float. Adjust intensity, cycle duration, and output size.

  3. Preview and export

Play the effect, choose a loop behavior, and download your animated GIF.

Pixel Text & Simple Motion, Explained

What Makes a Pixel Font?

A bitmap font builds each character from a fixed grid of squares. Classic, Bold, and Outline use different pixel shapes. Integer pixel sizes keep the exported lettering crisp, without relying on a font installed on your device.

A Banner Is Different from an Icon

A text banner needs room across its width. Fit to text gives static lettering a canvas based on the words you enter, while scrolling messages use a wide viewport. PNG motion effects can use square or rectangular outputs, with a margin to keep the image inside the frame.

How Do Motion Effects Work?

Each effect transforms the same source image over time. Bounce moves it up and down, Blink switches visibility, Shake shifts it sideways, and Float follows a gentle path. You select the motion rather than drawing individual animation frames.

PNG or GIF?

Choose PNG for static lettering and full image transparency. Choose GIF for motion and scrolling text. GIF uses a limited palette and does not support partial transparency; the animated preview shows the same colors and transparency as the exported GIF. Device import support depends on the specific product and app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Pixel Text Generator free?

Yes. Generate static pixel text, create scrolling messages, and add motion to PNG images for free, without signing up.

How is this different from Pixel Art Maker?

These tools start with a message or an existing PNG. They generate lettering or apply motion automatically. To draw pixels by hand, use the separate Pixel Art Maker.

Which files can I download?

Pixel Text Generator exports PNG. Scrolling Text Maker and Pixel Motion Effects export animated GIFs, plus a PNG of the currently displayed preview frame.

Can I control how the animation loops?

Yes. Repeat forever creates an infinite GIF loop. Play once exports a single cycle with no repeat extension. Back and forth reverses the frame sequence and repeats it. A receiving app may choose its own playback behavior.

Which PNG images can I animate?

Use a static PNG up to 5 MB and 2048 × 2048 pixels. Animated PNG files are not supported. The image is fitted inside the selected output size. GIF uses up to 216 colors and binary transparency, so fine colors and partly transparent edges can change.

Are my text and images uploaded?

No. Image decoding, text rendering, motion preview, and exports run locally in your browser. Download your files before leaving the page; your projects are not saved automatically.
