Establish the dark cypress, village roofline and large sky swirls before adding stars. Keep the yellow lights separated from the lighter blue trails.

The Starry Night pixel art questions

How do I keep the sky from becoming pixel noise?

Group the blue strokes into broad curved bands, then add a few isolated yellow stars. Preserve dark gaps between the bands instead of reproducing every painted stroke.

Are these original pixel artworks by Vincent van Gogh?

No. They are locally made pixelated adaptations of a linked digital reproduction of the original painting. The source and transformation notes identify what was used.

What moves in the GIF?

The whole pixelated image shifts gently in a short loop. The figures and painted elements are not independently animated.

Create your own The Starry Night study

Use a few stepped curved bands rather than many disconnected bright pixels. Give the large moon a different scale from the smaller stars.
