Open the editor ↗A wombat needs a sturdy rounded body and short legs. Compare a simple brown cartoon with a natural black-and-white study, keeping the small ear and muzzle shapes visible.

2 licensed wombat illustration studies converted to 128 × 128. One example uses a locally assembled whole-illustration bobbing GIF; this does not animate separate body parts.

Keep the body low and broad, use short legs and preserve the source muzzle and ear proportions. Do not rely only on a brown coat.
Group the interior fur lines into a few shadow patches and preserve a clearer outside contour. The small face should remain more distinct than the coat texture.
Show a few short feet below the body edge rather than using one continuous oval. Start with that shape in the pixel art maker.
